Yuriy leads Nominum's cybersecurity team, guiding them in their research of phishing, ransomware, and DDoS protection. He's passionate about bringing machine learning to petabyte scale, and excited about making the web experience of hundreds of millions of people safe through data science and security research at Nominum, a company responsible for a third of the DNS traffic worldwide. His past experience includes: ▪ Founder and CTO of Mercury Development (mercdev.com), a boutique consulting firm he founded in 1999, where his team designed an enterprise-grade end-point protection solution for Guardian Edge (now part of Symantec), and an Internet safety application for Bsecure (now part of AVG), among other challenging software engineering projects in mobile, security and encryption space. ▪ Organizer of data science and machine learning conference "True Positive" (truepositive.co). ▪ Co-organizer of SVOD (svod.org), a Silicon Valley Open Doors leading boutique technology investment conference. ▪ A member of executive team of AmBAR (ambarclub.org) - American Business Association of Russian Speaking Professionals. He also has four U.S. patents pending, and has been published in peer-reviewed publications.
