Black Hat Startup Spotlight Competition Announces Finalists for Black Hat Asia 2025

Four finalists selected and the winner to be announced during the upcoming event

The Black Hat Startup Spotlight Competition, a pitch competition for cybersecurity startup companies to present their products and solutions in front of a live audience at Black Hat, recently launched at Black Hat Asia 2025. Startup companies across the region submitted their applications between January 1 and March 3, and after the judges' recent deliberations, four finalists have now been selected.

Finalists include:

  • Evren: Evren provides a modern approach to secure enterprise computing that enables organizations to provide a fully managed, secure, and policy-enforced workspace running directly on third-party endpoints—without the complexity of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and more than just a browser.

Gaurav Nagar, Founder & CEO, Evren, shared, "Black Hat Asia 2025 is the perfect stage to demo how Evren OS secures unmanaged devices and sensitive data for developers with zero compromise on user experience—redefining enterprise security for a distributed world."

  • FireTail: FireTail is the first artificial intelligence (AI) security platform designed to provide comprehensive, real-time protection for AI-driven organizations. FireTail's code-to-cloud security platform delivers continuous discovery, risk assessment, and attack detection to keep AI ecosystems secure. By identifying shadow and rogue AI, unauthorized data exposure, and evolving attack techniques, FireTail enables companies to safely scale AI innovation without disruption.

Jeremy Snyder, CEO, FireTail, shared, "AI is enabling massive transformations, innovations, and productivity gains at a scale and speed never seen before. But just as with all sea change technologies, it introduces a whole new wave of security risks that existing tools are not equipped to handle. AI requires a fundamentally new security approach that equips cybersecurity teams with the visibility, risk understanding, and monitoring needed for organizations to innovate without fear. That's what FireTail delivers. We're excited to share our innovation with the Black Hat Asia audience. It's a unique opportunity to showcase FireTail's AI security platform and our vision for securing AI from code to cloud."

  • ProjectDiscovery: ProjectDiscovery Cloud is a highly customizable vulnerability management platform built for the modern internet. ProjectDiscovery combines exploitable vulnerability detection with exposure management, powered by open-source Nuclei technology, to provide security teams with a proactive and scalable vulnerability management solution without false positives.

Andy Cao, COO, ProjectDiscovery, shared, "ProjectDiscovery, the team behind widely used open-source security tools like Nuclei, subfinder, and httpx, is heading to Black Hat Asia! We're excited to share about our tools at Arsenal and also participate in the Startup Spotlight to showcase how ProjectDiscovery Cloud helps security teams detect exploitable vulnerabilities at scale. Visit our booth in Startup City and join our session to learn more!"

  • VulnCheck: VulnCheck is a next-generation cyber threat intelligence platform that provides exploit and vulnerability intelligence that's 100% autonomous and enables machine-based consumption directly into the tools, processes, programs, and systems to help teams outpace adversaries.

Tom Bain, Chief Marketing Officer, VulnCheck, shared, "There's a difference between mission-critical and nice-to-have technology when it comes to defending your organization from emerging threats. Most attacks have a global impact, and given the speed at which APAC markets move, organizations need solutions that move even faster. VulnCheck's exploit intelligence is predicated on rapid, precise delivery to enable analysts to respond to threats entirely in software - and we're thrilled to tell the APAC market about how we can help solve their vulnerability prioritization challenges."

In order to enter the competition, all applicants had to submit:
