Media Registration
Please review our required credentials and follow the button below to register.
Pre-Event Media Registration is REQUIRED. All Media personnel must request a Media pass by Sunday, December 8 at 5:00 PM GMT to be considered. NO COMPLIMENTARY MEDIA PASSES WILL BE ISSUED ON-SITE TO ANYONE WHO HAS NOT PRE-REGISTERED AND BEEN APPROVED.
Required Credentials for a Media Pass
Please note: Media/Analyst badges allow access to the Briefings, Keynotes, and Business Hall ONLY. Not every registration request will be accepted.
Complimentary Media passes are only issued to verified media professionals, who intend to publish articles/reports/information about the event. To qualify for a Media pass, applicants must provide the following:
- Articles bylined by you from the previous year’s Black Hat coverage, if you previously attended.
- Bylined article or report with relevant coverage of the information security and/or tech industry within the past six months.
- An assignment letter on letterhead from your assigning editor/producer.
- For blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels, and streamers: Third-party verification of the count of your monthly visitors, readers, or viewers/listeners.
Publishers, marketing/PR professionals, and other sales or C-level non-media titles will not be accepted. To purchase a Briefings pass, please follow this link.
Media passes will not be issued to photographers without formal commissioning from a news organization. For photographers/videographers being paid by a private consultant, please request a pass from the sponsoring company. Media credentials granted from a previous Informa event does not guarantee a media pass to this year’s Black Hat Europe and will be individually reviewed for each event.
Video Guidelines
Only Sponsors and registered Media may record video during the conference. The specific rules for both Sponsors and Media can be found below. Please note, Media must have an official “approved to film” ribbon affixed to their badge signifying their adherence to our official video policy below. Additional details on the approval process can be found below. Media can pick up their badges at Main Registration and coordinate pick up of their "approved to film" ribbons with the Black Hat PR team at BlackHatPR@informa.com.
Sponsors: Sponsors are permitted to take photographs and/or record video within the confines of their own booths ONLY. Permission is granted on the condition that all filming adheres to the below stipulations:
- Filming or photographing conference attendees without their express permission is prohibited.
- Still cameras and video recording equipment must be aimed into Sponsors' individual booths.
- Filming of other Sponsors and/or other Sponsors' booths is prohibited.
- Video and/or audio recording of conversations (including but not limited to interviews and commentary requests) with Black Hat attendees in any location other than a Sponsor's designated booth is prohibited, even in the case that an attendee may agree to be filmed and/or recorded for this purpose outside a Sponsor's designated booth.
- All content should be attributed to Black Hat Europe 2024.
Failure to abide by these rules may result in disqualification from participating in future Black Hat events.
If you wish to request any special arrangements or are unclear as to whether any proposed activity may violate these rules, contact the Black Hat PR team at BlackHatPR@informa.com. Please note that Black Hat does not provide photography services for Sponsors.
Media: Media interested in recording video at the event must contact the PR team at BlackHatPR@informa.com prior to the event for approval. Upon approval to film, cameras must remain stationary (i.e., tripod). We do not allow wandering handheld cameras through the event, so as to minimize disruption to other attendees. Video of attendees and Sponsor booths without permission/access is not allowed. We encourage you to share with us any content created on-site for greater exposure and cross promotion opportunities. All content should be attributed to Black Hat Europe 2024.
Business Hall and General Areas: Video recording is permitted within Black Hat's designated conference area and only with the express permission of Black Hat PR and the subjects/Sponsors being taped. Zooming in on laptops or similar mobile devices is prohibited.
Keynotes and Briefings: All video content must be attributed to Black Hat Europe 2024. Filming the Keynote and Briefings is permitted for the first 10 minutes of each presentation. Longer filming durations are prohibited. Please contact the PR team for filming approval.
Filming at ExCeL London + ExCeL London Brand Usage: Filming/photography must take place ONLY within the Black Hat contracted meeting rooms, ballrooms, or other areas considered private to Black Hat during the duration of the conference. To apply to film and/or photograph on the ExCeL estate, please ensure you've read the Terms and Conditions, and familiarize yourself with the ExCeL estate and FAQs on this webpage: https://www.excel.london/visitor/venue-guide/filming-photography-permits before completing the application form on that page.
