Dr Jonathan Oliver is a senior data scientist and director at Trend Micro. Recently he has been working on the machine learning approaches being applied to malware identification. Previous work has been applying machine learning to build the antispam pattern, and applying data analytics methods for identifying Ransomware outbreaks and exploit kits. Prior to joining Trend Micro, he served as Chief Spam Fighter and Director of Research at Mailfrontier; and as a data mining consultant in the Silicon Valley for organisations such as NASA and the FAA. He holds a doctorate in information theoretic approaches to machine learning from Monash University, Melbourne.
