Kris currently manages teams responsible for Security Analytics, Operations, Architecture and Threat Intel across Verizon's Top Tier customer base. In this role, he proactively works with C-level executives to drive Innovation, Information Security Governance and Risk Reduction in a cost effective and holistic manner.
Prior to his current role, Kris was Director for Global Strategic Services, where he managed teams responsible for Application and Enterprise Security Programs, and Security Service Management.
Earlier Kris worked as Principal Consultant, where he was responsible for delivery of the Security Management Program, a comprehensive information security assessment and certification program. Kris also specialized in security audits, including penetration testing and application vulnerability assessments for Fortune 50 and governmental organizations.
Over the last 15 years, Kris has been actively involved in security research. He is the author of several papers on application security. Kris' research and papers have been used and quoted as reference within publications, books, university courseworks and theses. He appeared as speaker at various seminars and events on Security and Governance topics.
Kris majored in Computer Science at the University of California in San Diego. In addition, he holds numerous industry qualifications including expert level Cisco and Information Security certifications. Kris is well versed in various languages including English, Dutch, French, German and Portuguese.
