As Director of Threat Research and Intelligence, Daniel leads Proofpoint's program responsible for attribution and tracking of threat actor groups. Whether their focus is large scale botnets, credential phishing, business email compromise, or nation-state supported espionage, researchers on Dan's team are digging through mountains of data every day to identify malicious activity and combat it in real-time. Prior to his time at Proofpoint, Daniel worked as a malware analyst at the NCFTA and got his start tracking adversaries as a combat engineer with the US Army.
