Veronica Valeros

Veronica is a cybersecurity researcher born in Patagonia, Argentina. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Intelligence and Security Studies from Liverpool John Moores University. She is passionate about cybercrime, honeypots, intelligence analysis, and helping teams to be more efficient. Veronica's research has a strong focus on helping people. Her research has focused on a wide range of topics, from privacy issues to malware and cybercrime research. She has also worked on software development projects dedicated to helping the Civil Society. She has presented her research at international conferences such as Black Hat, Ekoparty, and Botconf. She worked as a software engineer from 2013 to 2018 at Cisco, responsible for malware network traffic analysis and threat hunting on a big scale. In 2018, she joined the cybersecurity research laboratory, Stratosphere, at the Czech Technical University in Prague. She has led various projects, including Civilsphere, focused on helping protect civil society against targeted digital attacks. She currently leads the efforts to design, implement, and create high-quality cybersecurity datasets that help advance the understanding and creation of new defense mechanisms, improving the global cybersecurity field.
