Tom Bonner is the Vice President of Research at HiddenLayer, responsible for a multidisciplinary team of researchers investigating novel attacks against ML/AI systems. Tom has over two decades of experience in cyber-security, previously working with Norman, HP, Cylance, and BlackBerry. He has led the design and development of anti-malware scanning solutions, reverse-engineered complex malware and cryptographic libraries, directed threat intelligence teams investigating nation-state hackers, performed digital forensics/incident response for high-profile breaches, and conducted penetration testing and security audits for large organizations. Tom was among the first security researchers to investigate real-world attacks against deep learning systems and has been actively developing offensive tooling and defensive countermeasures in the AI space since 2019. Additionally, Tom has been published dozens of times, co-authored a book on threat intelligence, and presented at several industry conferences.
