Gianpaolo Russo is a Principal Engineer and the Capability Area Lead for Autonomous Cyber Operations at the MITRE Corporation. Gianpaolo focuses on building the technical foundations for applying artificial intelligence to cyber operations and developing the roadmap to next-generation autonomous cyber operations within MITRE and across the public sector. Previously, Gianpaolo was a multidisciplinary researcher at Indiana University Bloomington, leading cyber effects research by day, and contributing to cyber policy think tanks by night. Gianpaolo has a Juris Doctor as well as a master’s degree in cyber engineering from Indiana University, and studied Cognitive Science at the University of California, Irvine.
