Xavier Garceau-Aranda is a security consultant at NCC Group, with experience in both academia and the private sector. Xavier started his journey at the Polytechnic University of Montreal (Canada) Information Security Research Lab, where he was involved in projects ranging from computer forensics to malicious drive-by-download networks. Afterwards, he focused on malware analysis and research, completing an internship at the Microsoft Malware Protection Centre in Vancouver (Canada). After graduating, he joined the IMDEA Software Institute in Madrid (Spain), contributing to research on virtual machine memory analysis and malware analysis sandbox technologies. Making the jump to the private sector, he has worked as a backend developer and security consultant, focusing on application security. Xavier currently spends most of his time focusing on Cloud security, as well as driving the development of Scout Suite (https://github.com/nccgroup/ScoutSuite/), an open source multi-cloud security-auditing tool. Xavier holds the CREST Registered Tester (CRT), Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE), Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP) and Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certifications.
