Black Hat Student Scholarship Program
This year, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Black Hat Student Scholarship Program. As a way to introduce the next generation of security professionals to the Black Hat community, we will be awarding a limited number of complimentary Academic Passes for Black Hat USA 2014. Each pass allows full access to all Black Hat Briefings, Arsenal, the Business Hall, and Sponsored Sessions & Workshops.
Requirements: In order to apply for one of these scholarships, each student must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of the event
- Must provide copy of verifiable proof of full-time academic status at an accredited college or university.
- Must provide copy of valid and current college/university ID card
- ***Submit a brief essay (200 words or less) explaining why he/she wants to attend Black Hat
Essays must include responses to the following three questions:
- Why do you want attend Black Hat?
- What course work, training and/or experiences have you had that you feel qualify you for a complimentary pass?
- What benefits do you believe you will get from attending Black Hat?
Process:
- Interested students must submit essays by June 30, 2014
- Submission must include first/last name and email address Black Hat may use for follow up
- Essays should be submitted to: studentscholarship@blackhat.com
- Students do not need to provide proof of enrollment unless contacted by Black Hat for potential award
Entries received after June 30, 2014 will not be eligible to receive a complimentary Academic Pass.
Academic Passes awarded as part of this Scholarship program are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged or redeemed for any cash value.
All Scholarship recipients are responsible for their own travel, food and lodging.
