NEW VERSION 3.0
The InfoSec Assessment Methodology (IAM) is a two-day course for experienced Information Systems Security analysts who conduct, or are interested in conducting INFOSEC assessments of U.S. Government information systems. The course teaches NSA's INFOSEC assessment process, a high-level, non-intrusive process for identifying and correcting security weaknesses in information systems and networks.
The IAM course was originally developed by NSA to train U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) organizations to perform their own INFOSEC assessments. NSA has developed specialized knowledge with regard to information systems security assessments through its completion of INFOSEC assessments for its U.S. Government customers over the past fifteen years.
Some students may be eligible to receive National Security Agency (NSA) certification on the IAM material. Attendees who feel they may meet the following requirements will need to submit documents proving eligibility. Security Horizon will coordinate the work experience and paperwork with NSA, in advance of the class. Submission of paperwork no later than 30 days prior to the class is highly recommended to ensure all paperwork is approved and the certification exam is issued by the National Security Agency.
Students wishing to be certified must meet the following requirements:
- U. S. citizenship
Five years of demonstrated experience in the field of INFOSEC, COMSEC or computer security, with 2 of the 5 years of experience directly involved in analyzing computer system/network vulnerabilities and security risks.
Certification is NOT required to attend this course, but atttendance is limited to 36 students, so enroll now. Further information on the IAM course will be available at:
http://www.securityhorizon.com/iam/
We Strongly urge that you register for this class no later than September 1, 2003 if you are seeking to be certified since all paperwork for certification must be approved PRIOR to the class. On-site or late registration for this class will not ensure that the necessary paperwork will be completed for certification.
For those of you who are not seeking certification, an approved waiver from NSA must be signed by students who take the course and are not eligible for certification. This paperwork must be completed prior to the class.
