Eduardo Novella is a senior security consultant at Synopsys Inc, where mainly assesses the security of mobile apps and embedded devices. In the past, Novella evaluated the security of embedded devices such as Pay-TV (set-top boxes and chipsets), routers, smart-card readers and smart-meters.
Between his specialities, he focused on performing security evaluations for cloud-based payments (HCE) for different schemes and black-box assessments on DRM apps on the Android ecosystem. Whilst performing mobile engagements, Novella carried out side channel and fault injection attacks on white-box cryptography, reviewed the robustness of obfuscators and security mitigations on mobile applications.
