Rex Guo has 10+ years of work in endpoint security, incident response, cloud and infrastructure security, application security, low-level software security, security research & development. He works as a Principal Security Researcher at Confluera. Confluera XDR automates cloud and data center infrastructure breach detection and response by sequencing attack steps along the kill chain, automatically identifying and preventing multi-stage attacks. He leads the security research on the cloud initiative. He also works with the customers and provides thought leadership and guidance on the roadmap. Previously, he worked as a Technical Lead/Engineering Manager at Cisco Tetration. Tetration built massively scalable cloud workload protection platforms and was acquired by Cisco SBG. He was a founding member of the server endpoint detection and response product. The product was deployed in hundreds of enterprise customers' environments. Before Cisco Tetration, he was a Senior Security Researcher at Intel Corporation where he worked on mobile and IoT platform security and was one of the primary Intel contacts to work with Apple security team to ensure the security for hundreds of millions of Apple devices where Intel stacks are used. He has presented numerous times at Black Hat and others conferences. He has published 20+ academic papers, book chapters, and patents. He holds a PhD from New York University.
