In our eternal quest to improve the Black Hat delegate experience, we added a Twitter feed this year. It seems to us a like a good way to broadcast any late-breaking schedule changes, cancellations, new events and surprises. It also seems like a great way to facilitate meetups, common outings and general communication between likeminded delegates. If you're new to it, here's a quick primer on getting the most out of Black Hat with Twitter.
Head over to our official feed page on Twitter. It's https://twitter.com/BlackHatUSA2008. Click Follow.
You're almost done. If you stop at this point, you will get all of our updates throughout Black Hat and be able to ask questions to us through the Twitter interface.
This is the best part. Check out who's following us. If you see someone you know, follow them. If you see someone you think you might want to know, follow them. If you know some people who should be there and aren't, invite them and the follow them. This allows you to see what they tweet to the world. Keep in mind that they don't see your tweets until and unless they follow you back.
This has several benefits. If you want to get a small mob together to say goodbye to the Warp Core Breach, this is your tool. If you need a quick and mobile way to find out where your friends are at any given moment (including during presentations, when their ringers should be off) this is your tool. And, if you discover somethin so great that everyone should know about it right away, Twitter is a good way to let people know.
Also, let us know how it improved your experience and what we could do to keep everyone connected and engaged.
